Air travel represents about 3% of the manmade CO2 emissions globally. Together with hotel stays and the use of cars, air travel represents environmental issues within business travel no responsible company can ignore. And yet a more globalized world leads to more rather than less in terms of travel requirements for businesses.
What technology alternatives are emerging that change this picture?
The questions are what companies and the travel industry can do and what it should do. Can we continue to travel in business? And what do we need to do to minimize negative environmental impact?
