The Business Case for Establishing Shared Service Centers and other kinds of FDIs in The Wielkopolska Region

Abstract

Wielkopolska Region is in the centre of Europe, on a very important communication route between West and East. That’s the major thing, why Poland has so many economic opportunities to use. Polish market has a great economic growth potential, caused by productivity gains, relatively low costs of work and also great investment plans. Especially in the field of hard infrastructure and support of SME’s and B+R sector. Wielkopolska Region, with it’s capital city – Poznań – is the second place in Poland, after Warsaw and Mazowiecki Region, for the reason of investment potential, pace of economic growth and the climate for foreign investments. Organization of Europe Championship 2012 is a supplementary aspect, as an element strengthening investment potential, promotion and competitiveness.
The city of Poznań will present it’s investment offer in the field of location of Shared Service Centres in Poznań, worked out with PWC. In frames of this presentation, there will be presented human resources, investment opportunities and support for potential investors, who want to create (relocate) BPO centres in Poznań – as in one of the best places in Europe.
Wielkopolska Region will show the wider range of the region, from the investment potential point of view, especially in the field of innovation and B+R. There will be presented human potential (HR), commercialization of innovation centres, research centres and foreign companies, which are located in this region and make use of it’s potential. Apart from that, we have big resources free to use (grounds, growth possibilities of B+R). Furthermore, as a MI of WRPO (Wielkopolska Regional Operational Plan), we offer not only directed support with investment grants (from EU) for SME’s, but also in the field of creating networking (clusters), research centres for companies+scientists, support with financial instruments and investment infrastructure.
PWC should summarize the potential of Wielkopolska and Poznań, refer it to the situation in the country and reveal the unique offer of the region, which has the natural competitive advantage over others and introduce them to discussion.
